Body Brace

D was fitted for a body brace..neck to just above the hips.. will get it Monday.  I hope it will help.  Hehas had 2 months of this agonizing pain.  it's time for a break.. BREAK.. I cna't believe I even typed that

What Next?

D.'s surgery has been cancelled. The Dr said it was too risky.  So, he will be fitted for a brace and we will see how that works.  The awful pain contiues.  I am so sorry.

Pain Has No Gain

Finally,  a light at the endof the tunnel of pain for D.  Since his fall, January 3, 2013, he has been in contant horrible  pain with a compression fracture of T-8.  After much messing about from the DR, he is finally scheduled for a CT scan to show the break better.  (1 X-ray and 2 MRIs later)  Surgery is scheduled for Friday.  He has missed 3 days of work so far.  Thank the Lord, the DR has him on bed rest NOW!

S. was in for a few hours on Saturday.  He left with his laundry clean and a full belly of Pizza, apple pie and bread sticks.  I think he is enjoying his job.

I have been walking on the Treadmill some.  My best time so far is 20 min. that equals 1/2 mile.

Beginnings and endings

Had a nice  visit with  S  a couple of days ago.  He is doing well and seems to really enjoy his job.

Today, we learned D's assigment will end March 15.  Don't know if he will be found another post or nor.  Disablity looms and that could be a blessing.

Leavings

Silas is leaving tomorrow for his new trucking job.  I can happily say I hate to see him leave and I will miss him.  I can  feel the leavings already in my throat. I am such a boob.

Into the South

Watched the new year come in with Mama and M..  M. fired three shots at a tree to mark the occasion.  I gave Mama her first hug of 2013 then I opened the front door to let the new year in and  then opened the back door to let the old one out.  I never knew where I got that from.  Mama said it was something Daddy did?  I don't know -I really don't remember.  I also ate a tablespoon of black-eyed peas.  It was a good trip .I'm thankful for S. help with driving. D fell and hurt his back.

Time

Does time really make things better?  No, but time provides a perspective that allows healing.  I am doing well, settling into my new routine.  Silas is on his way to us again.  I write this to just note the date. December 05, 2012
